Who takes the payment?
You do. Stripe charges on your own connected account, under your statement descriptor, and we take a percentage as a platform fee. Your students' money never sits in our balance.
Do I need my own Stripe account?
Yes. You create one during setup, on a few Stripe screens that ask for your details and a bank account. Build your whole academy first if you like; you need Stripe once you start charging.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Free gives you 1 course and 1 staff seat, with no card needed and a 5% platform fee on what your students pay. Move to a paid plan when you want more courses, a team or the design tools, and everything you've built comes with you.
Can my students learn for free?
Yes. Leave a course unpriced and your students take it free, with no Stripe needed. Your plan with us has nothing to do with what you charge them.
What happens if I stop paying?
We delete nothing and take nothing from your students. Your courses stay as they are and enrolled students keep learning. You can't add beyond the smallest limits until you subscribe again.
Who owns the students and the content?
You do. Your courses, enrolments, progress and certificates belong to your academy, and we do not market to your students or sell them anything.
Is there a limit on students or video?
No student limit on any plan. Mux hosts and streams your video, and we'll talk to you long before fair use becomes a problem.
Can I have more than one instructor?
Yes. Invite staff as admins or instructors. The owner keeps control of anything involving money.
How do refunds work?
You issue them from Stripe, because the sale is yours. Your revenue reports update to match.
